The Walker County Sheriffs Department continues to work to identify a body discovered north of Huntsville. Sheriff officials say they received a call at about nine o'clock yesterday morning.
The caller said they had discovered human remains in what appeared to be a shallow grave. Sherriff officials responded to the undisclosed location and found the partially decomposed body. Based on the decomposition, officials say the person has been dead for an estimated three to five weeks. After speaking with the Sheriff's Office, officials there believe the victim is female. An autopsy will comfirm for the gender and cause of death. The Texas Rangers are aiding in the investigation. News7 will update you as new information becomes available.
